William Spiegel

William Spiegel is the Chief Executive Officer of Accredited Global, Inc., bringing more than 30 years of experience in the financial services sector, with deep expertise in insurance. Before assuming his current role, he served as Chief Executive Officer of Accredited’s former parent company and later transitioned to lead the business as CEO. Prior to that, he co-founded Pine Brook, a U.S.-based private equity firm, in 2006 and served as a Managing Partner. In that role, he led the firm’s financial services investment strategy and was a member of both the Investment Committee and the Management Committee.

Throughout his career, William has played a key role in building and scaling insurance companies across the United States, the United Kingdom, and Bermuda. As a private equity investor, he has been a founding investor and/or board member of numerous successful insurance businesses, including Catlin Group, Essent Group, The Fidelis Partnership, Global Atlantic Financial Group, Lancashire Group, Montpelier Re, and Third Point Reinsurance.

Before co-founding Pine Brook, William was with The Cypress Group from its inception in 1994 through 2006, where he led investments in the financial services and healthcare sectors. Earlier in his career, he worked in the Merchant Banking Group at Lehman Brothers.

William has served on the boards of more than 20 companies, including eight publicly traded corporations. He currently serves on the Polsky Council at the University of Chicago’s Polsky Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation, as well as its Private Equity Council.
